Glory to the newborn King.

Much like Jesus's words in the New Testament, there is a deeper message within this piece. The lion, flipped upside down, represents the silhouettes of Mary & Joseph kneeling in prayer and Thanksgiving while admiring the baby in the manger - a baby that would go on to conquer death and become the King of Kings. 

First designed by former art teacher Gayle Sablotny (1953 - 2010) as the school mascot logo for the Lutheran School Association of Decatur - the original framework of the design was preserved in this reimagined rendition to honor her spiritual and artistic influence. This one's for you, Gayle!
